"I’ve
used a Schenk guitar on a number of television soundtracks
and it has recorded beautifully in both solo and group settings. Piano
like balance and sustain make performing a pleasure. The
playability and workmanship are supurb."

years I struggled trying to find a guitar that could keep
up with my demanding playing style. I’m thrilled to say
that my search is over.”

“Recently I had the good fortune to play one of Rod Schenk's acoustics. I expected the guitar to be good. However my first glance suggested something way beyond "good." Fit and finish were immaculate throughout. Deep-hued spruce top set in Brazilian rosewood sides above an unbelievable bookmatched back. A neck that felt just right, topped by an elegant headstock studded with exquisite tuning machines. Enough paua to sink a rowboat. Perfect heft, weight and balance.
But the highest beauty of the Schenk was reserved for the moment I put it to work. When the audio-science guys show up (and they will), they'll rave about the sustain, crystal-clear highs, balance, playability throughout the range, and the surprising strength of the bottom end. I just know that the guitar had me from zero to rapid grin faster than anything else I've played in years.”

“Rod Schenk’s guitars are some of the nicest guitars I’ve played. You can just see the attention to detail in how they are built, the bindings, the joint work, the frets, the finish all top notch. The guitars sound great too, they have a crispness and clarity to them, finger picking is a joy, every note comes through. The nut spacing is 1 13/16 which I love, I think it helps give that extra bit of bigness and clarity. The neck itself is extremely comfortable, it’s a bit thinner making it easy to get around on. The tuners are like driving a Rolls Royce! A really fine guitar builder.”

“Both the guitars I played were stellar and in particular the Blue one (FE Grand Fingerstyle-Tru Fire Edition) I'll tell you bro, there's some serious master built qualities in these instruments. I perused the rosewood (GK Windwalker)concert one for a few days and found it to technically about as perfect as a guitar gets, I could not find a flaw. I really loved the double crescent moon book match on the butt end, nice touch. Also the soft blue glow of the inlay on the headstock was of particular note. The only thing that instrument needed was a good long play to open it up. In a nutshell it's all there and excellent Luthier work.”

“When I first saw both guitars, I was instantly struck with how clean and precise the workmanship was. Every joint was a perfect fit, with obvious care taken with the continuity of the wood grain. The two instruments did have different tones, but both warm and crisp, each with a rich bottom end and they were delightfully well balanced. A warm rich tone on a brand new guitar with no age on its side at all, now that's a rarity! Bravo Rod! You've found the secret.”
