It was my Grandfather that inspired me the most as a young child. I have fond and cherished memories of the time I spent with him. He was a hard worker and loved his jobs. He had a Masters Degree which was very rare at the time, and while going to school he enjoyed several different vocations including farming and sheet metal work. He finally settled on becoming a pastor at a small church just north of Philadelphia. As a second source of much needed income he became a wood shop teacher at the local school. It was this second career (and his small wood shop in the basement) that spurred me on to a lifelong passion for wood working.

No one knows what the future holds. Little did I know as a 6 year old working with my Grandpa in his shop that some day I would have not only my own shop, but a dream shop that my Grandpa would never believe. What I do know is that I am programmed deep in my DNA to keep improving and innovating. I want to create the finest guitars available - with absolutely no "smoke and mirrors." Schenk Guitars will have the finest guitars because they are - simply better.
